What You'll Do

POSITION SUMMARY
Ensure smooth service operations by coordinating between the kitchen and front-of-house staff. Responsible for the quality and proper presentation of food in a timely manner; food orders are prepared and assembled quickly according to standards, avoiding waste; and the line is always stocked, clean, and safe. Responsible for organizing food orders, verifying quality and accuracy, and delivering dishes to guests in a timely manner while maintaining exceptional presentation standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for specific positions.

  1. Manage the expediting station during service periods, serving as the communication hub between the kitchen and service staff
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of all menu offerings and understands detailed descriptions of each item
  3. Verify food orders for accuracy, presentation, and quality before delivery to guests
  4. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of all menu items
  5. Send complete orders out by table/seat number and follow all ticket requests (i.e., Send Solo, Split, For Table, etc.)
  6. Deliver food to tables promptly and accurately, describing dishes when appropriate
  7. Perform Line Checks to ensure proper par levels of all required products are on hand on an ongoing basis
  8. Assist servers during peak periods to maintain service efficiency and guest satisfaction
  9. Ensure all plates, garnishes, and accompaniments meet presentation standards
  10. Monitor ticket times and communicate delays to appropriate team members
  11. Maintain the cleanliness of service areas and assist with side work as needed
  12. Follow all health department regulations and food safety protocols
  13. Communicate guest preferences, allergies, and special requests clearly to kitchen staff
  14. Perform other duties and side work as assigned

 

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • One year of experience as a food expediter or other related restaurant position in a high-volume restaurant
  • Demonstrate a pleasant attitude and energy to ensure exceptional guest service and present a professional demeanor, appearance, and communication skills in accordance with STRC and restaurant guidelines
  • Working knowledge of restaurant floor plans
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate clearly with guests and team members regarding food and beverage orders and guest questions and concerns
  • Read menu offerings, product labels, register screen, pricing, receipts, safety procedures, and operating directions
  • Maintain a safe and clean restaurant for guests
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays

Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities

Obtain and maintain a valid gaming license, Food Handlers Certificate, and MAST certification
